CNSPY and the CDPG program is pleased to bring Dr. Jeanne
Garbarino, Director of Science Outreach at Rockefeller University, to Yale next
week on Tuesday, January 21st. She will be holding a small group discussion
at 3pm for selected participants and a seminar later that day at 5pm, open to
all members.
Dr. Jeanne Garbarino, Director of Science Outreach
at Rockefeller University, will lead an one-hour discussion on Tuesday,
January 21st at 3pm in KBT 1202.
The discussion will be career oriented and students are encouraged to
ask questions regarding a career in scientific outreach. Please email Tiffany Tsang (tiffany.tsang@yale.edu) to secure one of the few remaining
spots.
Later on Tuesday, January 21st at 5pm in KBT 1214, Dr.
Garbarino will present a seminar entitled: Harnessing social media to
expand your network and raise your professional profile This event is open to all members and those at Yale.
Bio: Dr. Garbarino completed her Ph.D. at the Columbia
University Medical Center. Thereafter, she was a postdoctoral fellow at
Rockefeller University. Since 2011, she has been a co-organizer of SpotOn NYC,
a monthly discussion series intended to address current events relevant
to science communication. She is also the Biology editor for Double X
Science, an online science magazine for women. Since 2012, she has been
the Director of Science Outreach at Rockefeller University.
